Description

There are many species of kyllingas with common names such as green kyllinga, tufted kyllinga, cocks-comb kyllinga, and fragrant kyllinga. Kyllinga species can be annual or perennial and some species are mat-forming. Some species can also spread by rhizomes. Their seedheads consist of densly compacted spikelets. Kyllingas often occur in wet areas and can be a common lawn weed.
