Description

Shepherd’s purse is a winter annual weed that forms a basal rosette that can tolerate low-mowing heights. It is most widely recognizable by its fruiting structures comprised of triangular to heart-shaped siliques that resemble a purse, hence the name Shepherd’s purse.
